We do the heavy lifting, in your house, while you work.
Home School is for owners who want professional results but do not have hours in the day to run training sessions themselves. A master trainer comes directly to your home during the day and works one-on-one with your dog in the environment where the behavior actually occurs.
This matters more than people expect. A dog that behaves perfectly at a training facility and falls apart at the front door has not generalized anything. Training in your home addresses the real triggers: the doorbell, the hallway, the kitchen, the yard, the neighbor's fence.
We build foundational skills, address localized triggers and establish consistent routines right where they matter most, then wrap up with transfer sessions so you can maintain the progress without guesswork.
We take clients from anywhere listed in our service area.
We map the triggers in your actual home and set up management so rehearsal of the problem stops immediately.
The trainer does the repetitions while you are at work, building skills in the real environment.
Skills are extended from room to doorway to yard to street.
Sessions with you at the end, so the dog performs for the household, not just the trainer.
The first visit is largely environmental. We map where the behavior actually happens, which door, which window, which room, which time of day, and set up management so the pattern stops being rehearsed straight away. That alone often produces visible change within a week, before any formal training has been layered on top.
Context is a bigger part of canine learning than most owners are told. Dogs do not generalize the way people assume; a behavior learned in a training facility is, from the dog's point of view, partly a fact about that facility. That is why so many owners report a dog who was excellent in class and unrecognizable at the front door. Training inside the environment where the behavior lives removes that transfer problem entirely, because there is no transfer to make. The trade-off is that we are also working around your real life, with its real doorbells and real neighbors, which is precisely what makes it stick.
The assumption we correct most often is that day training means the dog gets walked and played with while you are out. It does not. These are structured working sessions with a master trainer, built around a written plan, in the environment where your specific problem occurs. The other misconception is that the trainer doing the work means you never have to. The transfer sessions exist precisely because a dog who performs only for the trainer has not been trained in any sense that helps you.
Home Schooling is booked after assessment, not before it. That is not a formality: recommending a program before anyone has looked at the dog is how owners end up buying the wrong thing. The free behavior consultation establishes what is actually driving the behavior, and only then do we confirm whether this program is the right fit, how long it should run, and what it will cost for your specific case.
Not for the day-training sessions, which is the point of the program. You do need to be present for the transfer sessions at the end.
In private lessons you do the training with coaching. In Home School the trainer does the repetitions for you, then hands the skills over.
Temecula and the surrounding Southern California communities. Contact us with your location and we will confirm scheduling.
Yes, particularly for territorial and door-related reactivity, because that behavior is anchored to your home and is best worked there.
The behavior consultation is free, and it is the only responsible way to confirm this is the right program for your dog.
